Pink Play-Doh

Hannah enjoyed playing with the pink play-doh. She now knows the colors yellow and pink pretty consistently. The other colors are not quite a consistent!

Riding on the Glider

Hannah enjoyed riding on the glider this week. However, did NOT like getting her picture taken. See picture #3. I was told, "Mommy stop!" when I was taking her picture!

Yummy Cupcake!

I had a student who had a birthday over the weekend, so he brought in huge cupcakes for class treats. I had two left, so I brought them home. We let Hannah have one for dessert! She loved the icing and fed most of the "cake" part to Daisy and Spot!

Loving the Chalk!

I had gotten Hannah some sidewalk chalk a long time ago, but didn't remember that we have a "chalk board" on the tree house. Hannah loved being able to draw on the chalk board and the house. Luckily it cleans right off with a wet paper towel!

Little Driver

Hannah likes to "drive" in the car. We let her "drive" after we park it and remove the keys. She has figured out how to change CD's. She changed from one Backyardigans CD to the other this week.

August Flesher Family Update!

I survived my week away from Hannah. I missed her terribly, but I know she had a fantastic time with Nana and Papa. She got to meet some of Papa's other grand kids. Hannah got to swim with Courtney in Kentucky. Play with Caden and Hailey in Pennsylvania. She and Caden became fast friends over trains! While in Pennsylvania, Hannah got to visit the Crayola Factory and see how crayons are made. Coming home, Nana, Papa, and Hannah stopped at an Amish Village in Ohio. Hannah got to pet a cow, see a Zorse (a cross between a horse and zebra), and ride on a pony named Billy.

Hannah also gave up her binky while she was with Nana and Papa. I am surprised at how easy it went! I figured it would be a battle to give it up at nap time and night-time. She asked for it a few times when she got home, but we told her she was a big girl and didn't need it! So we are binky free! Yea! Now the next big step is potty training.

This week we have been swinging from sweet little Hannah to the Terrible Two Monster. Tuesday we had a kicking and screaming fit over pudding and a banana. She goes right onto the floor when she doesn't get her way. Usually, we just walk away and she knows her fit isn't working!

We have enjoyed our little pool this week with the HOT, HOT weather we have had. Hannah has been using her little slide to jump into the water. She is getting quite good at jumping in the water. She has also learned to put her face into the water. This week she has also been dumping water on Mommy's head, and then giggling!

Hannah also had a new saying, "What dat?" We were watching a Baby Einstein video about animals and she kept asking, "what dat, what dat?" We would say, "Hannah, What is that?" and she would tell us what it was!

I just finished my first week of school! It was a little crazy this week. I have the 3 year olds in the morning class and the 4-5 year olds in the afternoon class. Most of the kids in the afternoon class were with me last year, so that class is a little more calm. It has been an interesting task to try to get eight 3 year olds to walk in a line. Luckily, I have a really good assistant this year.

Ben has been busy at work. He won a design contest for the new membership logo. He has also been on several video shoots in the last few months. Ben's reign as Optimist president is finally winding down. He will step down on October 1. We will both still be active in the club. Ben will continue to be the Race Director and will start doing the newsletter. I am taking over as the Scholarship chairman and will be the race director's "assistant." I am sure we will stay plenty busy!

Daisy and Spot continue to be lazy dogs. I think they enjoy the peace and quite they get during the day, but enjoy it when we get home. They both missed Hannah while she was gone, surprisingly enough. Spot even licked her hello when she came home!

I think that is all for now. Keep checking back to see what is new with our family. I will try to keep updating about every week.

What a diffference a year makes!

I was just looking at the pictures on the blog and decided to look at the pictures from July and August 2006. I can't believe how much Hannah has grown and changed in a year! She has so much more hair now!

Brave Mommy

I was brave and let Hannah go to Kentucky with Nana and Papa. I figured it was only for 2 days. I could handle it! Well, Ben talked me into letting Hannah go on to Pennsylvania with Nana and Papa. I knew Nana and Papa would enjoy the extra time with Hannah, and I am working like crazy at school, so I let her go! Now I am missing her!!!! Only 3 more days till I hold my sweetie again! Mom calls me daily with an update. Hannah is doing well, she misses Mommy, Daddy, and the doggies, but is having a great time!

Train Table

Daddy made Hannah a train table for her track. This piece fits on top of the coffee table, then when we have company, we just take the top off! Ben did a great job!
